Trinity or Modelism III
This passage is the most defendable by the current Mormon doctrine of God. This passage
says specifically that the three persons are one God and describes them as being "in" each
other. To a Mormon this means that there is one divine purpose, state of mind, will, and
corporation relationship between the three. The passage clearly doesn't explain that but,
Latter-Day Saints believe this clarification is accomplished through later Revelations. Keep in
mind that: Tri-Theism involves multiple gods which is totally denied by the passage in Alma
11.This is also denied by the clear passages of the bible that teach and have always taught
that there is only one God the LORD.
Nephi 11:27
And after this manner shall ye baptize in my name; for behold, verily I say unto you, that the
Father, and the Son, and the Holy Ghost are one and I am in the Father, and the Father in me, and
the Father and I are one.
